Buying property requires making important financial decisions, understanding complex issues, and completing a lot of paperwork. In a competitive market, timing and the ability to act quickly are also key. Find a Realtor that has the necessary expertise, makes you a priority, and acts quickly on your behalf.

When selecting an agent, consider the following:

  • Is the agent a full-time Realtor? Choosing someone with the freedom to show properties and take calls at any time is important, especially in a competitive market. Also, full-time focus leads to more experience and greater expertise.
  • Is the agent available nights and weekends? A successful agent needs to be willing to work when you are free to focus on your property search in order to obtain the best outcome.
  • Is the agent responsive? Select an agent that you are able to reach on the phone and who returns your messages promptly.
  • What are the agent’s credentials? Consider whether the agent has the necessary level of expertise in the real estate field.
  • Who are the agent’s references? Reach out to others that have worked with the agent before.
  • How many property transactions have they done? Experience matters.
  • Can the agent help identify reputable home inspectors, lenders, title companies, appraisers, and others? A smooth transaction requires many professionals to do their parts in competent and timely manners.
  • Does the agent review the new listings in their area each day? Agents need to be aware of properties as they come available to give their clients the best opportunity to purchase in a competitive market.
  • Does the agent listen attentively to you? Every home search is different, and to develop an effective approach, the agent must fully understand your needs and desires.
