Located north of Nashville, on Old Hickory Lake in Sumner County, Hendersonville is a booming suburb of Nashville situated among rolling hills. The area has a dense suburban feel that is very family-friendly, boasting several parks and community events. Also, Sumner County schools are generally highly-rated. Its proximity to the lake makes Hendersonville very appealing to those that enjoy boating, skiing, fishing, or other water activities. Though apartments and condominiums can be found, single-family homes are most common in Hendersonville. Geographically, the area has rolling hills that are rural in some areas and more urban in others. The Indian Lake retail area is likely the most popular area in Hendersonville, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

BEST KNOWN FOR

Whether because of the rolling hills, Old Hickory Lake, or other reasons, Hendersonville has been the home to many famous musicians throughout the years. As a few examples, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Merle Haggard, Marty Stuart, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Kelly Clarkson, and Taylor Swift have all called Hendersonville home.

Traffic. Due to its recent population boom, Hendersonville’s roadways are often busy. Also, if you commute to downtown Nashville each day, I-65 North is one of the busier interstate corridors in middle Tennessee.

The lake. Hendersonville’s proximity to Old Hickory Lake makes it a great area in which to live if you enjoy boating, skiing, or fishing.

MALONE TEAM FACT

Ryan’s high school crush worked at the Indian Lake movie theater in the mid-to-late ‘90s. Ryan also worked occasional shifts there, on loan from the theater in Hermitage where he was employed from ages 16-19.
