Murfreesboro
Located southeast of Nashville, down I-24, Murfreesboro is the center of Rutherford County. While Murfreesboro can be considered a suburb of Nashville, it is also the sixth largest city in Tennessee (and likely to be in the top five in the near future). It offers retail areas, restaurants, parks, theaters, golf courses, and just about everything else one would expect to find in a small city. While single-family homes are most common, Murfreesboro offers a variety of housing options, including condos, townhouses, and apartments. Murfreesboro is also a college town, as it is the home of Middle Tennessee State University, the second largest school in the state. For this reason, there is a more active nightlife in Murfreesboro than you will find in many of Nashville’s other suburbs. The outskirts of Murfreesboro offer a more rural feel.
